Account Information

When you sign in with Google, we receive from your Google account:

• Full name and profile photo
• Email address
• A unique Google user ID

Information You Provide

When listing a property or updating your profile you may provide:

• Phone number (shown to renters who request contact)
• Property address and city
• Property photos uploaded to our storage
• Listing details — rent, BHK count, furnishing type, description

Location Information

With your permission we collect:

• Precise GPS location — to show properties near you and to pin your listing on the map. Only requested when you use location features.
• City-level location — derived from your search activity to improve relevance.

Usage Data

We automatically collect limited usage information:

• Properties you have viewed or saved
• Number of owner contacts you have revealed
• Your notification preferences
• Device FCM token for push notifications

• To provide the service — display listings, show your location on the map, connect renters and owners.
• To personalise your experience — show recently viewed properties and saved favourites.
• To send notifications — alert you when someone saves your property, views your contact, or when new listings appear in your area.
• To improve the app — understand which features are used most and resolve issues.
• To enforce our terms — detect and prevent fraudulent or abusive listings.

To operate the app we use trusted Google services for authentication, data storage, push notifications, and maps. These services process data on our behalf and are governed by Google's Privacy Policy. We do not use any advertising or analytics SDKs.

We share your information only in these limited circumstances:

• With other users — your name, listing details, and phone number (only when a renter explicitly requests contact) are visible to other app users.
• With service providers — Firebase and Google Maps process data on our behalf as described in Section 3.
• Legal requirements — if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of our users.
• Business transfer — in the event of a merger or acquisition, user data may transfer as part of that transaction with equivalent privacy protections.

We do not share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or unaffiliated third parties for their own marketing.

• Account data — retained as long as your account is active.
• Property listings — retained until you delete the listing or your account.
• Photos — deleted from storage when you remove them from a listing or delete your account.
• Notifications — stored for 90 days then automatically purged.

Rent Waala is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@rentwaala.app and we will delete it promptly.

Your data is stored in Firebase, which provides industry-standard security including:

• Encryption in transit via HTTPS/TLS
• Encryption at rest
• Role-based access control via Firebase Security Rules

No method of Internet transmission is 100% secure. If you suspect a security issue, please contact us immediately at support@rentwaala.app.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes we will notify you via a push notification in the app.

Your continued use of Rent Waala after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
